WaterWell Announcement - Additional 1% Resource Distribution

3 November 2025

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW DCCEEW) has today announced a general security allocation increase of 2 per cent, bringing the total general security allocation for the Murray Valley to 20 per cent.

In line with the commitment made in our 2025-26 Resource Management Strategy announcement on 29 May, we are pleased to announce a further 1 per cent Resource Distribution to eligible customers. This is a cumulative 2 per cent Resource Distribution for the current season.

This Resource Distribution will release a further 10,000ML of water into the footprint, in addition to the 80GL Sustainability Product released at a discount in August, the 5 per cent Water Users Credit and the 1 percent Resource Distribution announced in September.

This additional water will be automatically placed onto eligible customer accounts. You can view this via your Customer Portal.

The company’s Resource Management Strategy aims to release a minimum of 100GL of water into the footprint early in the season. To date, the company has released 109GL of water into the footprint, as summarised in the table below.

As general security allocations build throughout the season, and in line with the company’s Board approved Resource Management Strategy, Murray Irrigation will continue to distribute water via Resource Distribution as outlined in the following table.
