Cotton Irrigation Innovation Farm Tour


Following on from the successful launch of MIL's Irrigation Innovation farm tour last year, we are continuing the series with a focus on cotton.

 

The purpose of this Farm Tour series is to foster collaboration, innovation, and shared learning among irrigators and across industries in the Murray Irrigation footprint.

Tour details

 

Date: 17 February 2026

Time: 10.00am – 1.00pm

Location: “Sandford’s Farm” approx. 20-minute Southeast of Deniliquin. Specific location provided on registration

Program: The program will focus on interactive discussions and a hands-on crop walk where attendees will hear from industry experts on topics including:

  • transitioning into cotton production,
  • soil suitability,
  • feasibility of land conversion,
  • planning considerations, spray drift management, and
  • available support for those considering the transition.

Transport: Attendees are welcome to travel in their own vehicles. Buses will be provided for those who wish to utilise them. Details on bus departure times and locations will be shared closer to the date.

Catering: Lunch will be provided – please provide any dietary requirement information in your RSVP.

What is the purpose of the tours?

The purpose of the Irrigation Innovation Farm Tour is to create a platform where like-minded irrigating farmers can network and share knowledge and insights from across the footprint, ask questions and expand their knowledge on farm layouts, innovation, infrastructure, water use and more. 

Who should register their interest?

We encourage irrigators who are keen to expand and share their knowledge in irrigation, farm layouts, innovation and farming practices to fill out the EOI.
