Operational Update

High demand for rice fill - please get your orders in early

With rice filling well underway, we are expecting high demand for water deliveries. Flow restrictions may occur in channels where demand exceeds the physical capacity of the channel section.

At times of high demand, to help minimise chances of interruptions to your orders:

  • Please ensure you place your orders as soon as possible, and to guarantee delivery, a four-day order notification is required.
  • Consider filling on-farm storages prior to your high demand needs to ensure you can supplement if flows need to be restricted.
  • If you are not happy with the future date the water ordering system offers you, please place an unsatisfied order (see our 'How to' section below). This will place you in the queue for a four-day start, at a restricted flow rate, or earlier if capacity becomes available.
  • Remember that your flow will be determined by the flow shares on your landholding.
  • Please don’t delay updating your order changes for extensions or increases.
  • If you need any assistance, you can find out more in our Restrictions and Flow Shares Fact Sheet.

If you have any concerns or would like further explanation, ring us: 1300 138 265 or email: customersupport@murrayirrigation.com.au

How do I lodge an unsatisfied order?

If you receive the below message when you enter your order and you prefer an earlier date:

Select Reject to lodge an unsatisfied order.

You will then receive the below message:

Select Continue.

This will place your order as an unsatisfied request and put you in the queue to receive your order as soon as capacity is available, or at a restricted flow in four days.

You can find more details in our Water Ordering Guide or you can contact us to show you how. You can either ring us on 1300 138 265 or email: customersupport@murrayirrigation.com.au

Supplementary access

WaterNSW has extended access to supplementary water delivery until 7.00am 19 October 2023, with a further extension possible.

Customers will continue to be notified via SMS of any changes in access to supplementary deliveries. Please note that normal water delivery charges apply.

You can place, change or finish orders online now via your
Customer Portal.

Business Update

Joint initiative to explore future of WTSSDS site

Murray Irrigation and Federation University Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will see the University’s Future Regions Research Centre (FRRC) develop recommendations to ensure the effective end-of-life management of the Wakool Tullakool Sub Surface Drainage System (WTSSDS).

Under the joint venture, FRRC researchers will conduct a feasibility study on the ongoing management of the drainage site.

The study will provide recommendations on how the site can be managed with minimal financial and ecological impact, while also exploring the site’s potential for future employment, recreation and development opportunities.
