Operational Update


Sustainability Product Expressions of Interest close tomorrow

There is still time to submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) to purchase part of the 40GL of Sustainability Product on offer via your Customer Portal. 

The deadline for submitting your EOI is 5.00pm tomorrow, Wednesday 26 July.

Supplementary access

WaterNSW has extended access to supplementary water delivery in non-maintenance areas until 7.00am on Saturday 29 July, with further extension likely. 

Affected customers will continue to be notified via SMS of changes in access to supplementary delivery. 

Please remember that normal water delivery charges apply.

Winter Works progress report

Murray Irrigation's winter maintenance works remain on schedule. 

All maintenance areas are scheduled to transition out of Winter Operations by mid-August, as outlined in our 2023-24 Season Operating Plan

As of this morning, Tuesday 25 July, 83.7% of the 2,198 work orders in maintenance areas have been completed, with 359 remaining. 

The map below shows work orders to be completed in maintenance areas, including the status of the program as of Monday 24 July. 


Any tracks damaged during rainy weather will be repaired after our Winter Works are finished and conditions have dried out. 

Safety is our priority during our winter maintenance program.

Business Update

Member Director nominations close next week

Murray Irrigation would like to remind shareholders that nominations for three upcoming Member Director vacancies on the company's Board of Directors close in just over a week's time. 
 
Interested candidates have until 5.00pm next Tuesday 1 August to submit their nominations. 
 
Eligible nominees must be either shareholders of Murray Irrigation or an authorised representative of a company which is a shareholder of Murray Irrigation. 
 
Successful candidates will be appointed for a four-year term, commencing at the conclusion of the 2023 Annual General Meeting.

Murray Irrigation Business Review

In September 2022, the Murray Irrigation Board of Directors and Management team embarked on a bottom-up business review.

As announced in our recent 
Business Review Shareholder Update, we are in the final stages of this review process and look forward to engaging with shareholders in August around our options and recommendations for resetting the company's finances and positioning Murray Irrigation for a strong future.

During this engagement period, shareholders will have an opportunity to discuss the company's recommendations with Murray Irrigation Management, to ensure that you are in a position to make a fully informed vote on the company's path forward.

Murray Irrigation wins Sustainability Excellence Award

        Yvette Mansfield, Ron McCalman, Emily Small, Michael Pisasale, Tessa Chartres, Alison Bult and Emily Thorpe.


The Murray Irrigation team spent a marvellous night at the Deniliquin Business Awards last Friday celebrating everything that is great about our local business community.

To top things off we came home with a gong for Excellence in Sustainability, in recognition of our Murray Reconnected Floodplains environmental watering project.

Congratulations to all the finalists and award winners.

We also extend our thanks to the Deniliquin Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a wonderful event.

This week's key points are:


  • Yardings have lifted significantly week-on-week for both cattle and sheep.
  • The return of some buyers in the sheep market has helped to support some prices.
  • Cattle slaughter numbers have held firm, while sheep and lamb slaughter have eased due to some processor maintenance shutdowns still occurring.
