Access to infrastructure and channels

In recent weeks, our work crews have observed restricted access to infrastructure assets resulting from paddocks sown right up to the toe of channels. 

Unfortunately, this lack of access can mean delays or interruption to maintenance, which may lead to outlets not opening, delivery delays and system maintenance issues. 

If you’re planning earthworks, land forming or just crop planning, we can assist to explain our access needs before expensive mistakes are made.

Planning for dry times webinar - Early weaning

Early weaning is a strategy which livestock producers should consider to enable better management of herds to maintain productivity through dry times.
 
In this Local Land Services webinar, Brett Littler will outline some tips and strategies around early weaning livestock, including:


  • Better utilisation of feed resources, both pastures and supplementary feeds
  • Increased market flexibility
  • Maintaining herd productivity through fertility and longer recovery times.


This webinar is taking place tomorrow 15 November between 7:00pm and 8:30pm.

2024 Rice Industry Graduate Program

Applications are now open for the 2024 Rice Industry Graduate Program.

There are two graduate positions that will work across key organisations in the Australian Rice Industry, including the RGA, Rice Breeding Australia, Rice Extension and the SunRice Group.

Applications close on Wednesday, 6 December 2023.

Virtual Channel Fundraising Walk

We're now at the halfway mark of the Barham Local Health Medical Trust's Virtual Fundraising Walk, which is running throughout the month of November to raise money for health services for the Barham/Koondrook communities. 

There are 41 walkers currently on board who have notched more than 1,500 kilometres and raised around $2,500 for the campaign so far.

While it's been a promising start, organisers are eager for a strong finish to help them reach their fundraising goal of $20,000. 

Whether you pull on your walking shoes, or sponsor a friend, every dollar raised will help make a difference.
