Customer Update - Murray Irrigation Drainage Review - Key findings released

Key findings from an independent review into Murray Irrigation’s response to the 2022 flood event are now available on the company website.

 

The company commissioned Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigator, SAFCOM Risk Management, in December to examine and report on the effectiveness of Murray Irrigation's drainage system infrastructure and processes in responding to the major rain events that occurred in October and November 2022. 

 

The review, which involved an extensive interview process with customers as well as Murray Irrigation staff, has recently been completed and a report with key findings is now available. 

 

The report sets out the lessons learned from the flood response, and contains a number of recommendations for areas of improvement. 

 

In response, Murray Irrigation is developing a comprehensive action plan that seeks to systematically address these recommendations, including improved engagement with key local stakeholders. Once complete, the Board will oversee the implementation of this action plan.   

 

As promised in our Customer Update released on 24 January 2023, the 2022 Flood Event Drainage System Review Findings & Recommendations Report, prepared by SAFCOM Risk Management, is now available for viewing on our website.
