As announced in last week’s
Talking Water, Expressions of interest for Murray Irrigation’s second round of Sustainability Product closed at 5.00pm on Tuesday 8 September. This round was oversubscribed by 3,428ML. Not all offers were accepted, which has left a total of
33,470ML available for public auction exclusive to Murray Irrigation customers.
Murray Irrigation will partner with Ruralco Water to deliver a public auction of the remaining temporary water,
commencing from 28 September 2026. The 33,470ML volume will be made up of various parcel sizes ranging from 2,000ML down to 20ML. The multiple auctions will commence closing at 30 minute intervals from 30 September 2026. Larger parcels will be the first to close on 30 September 2026 with the final smaller parcels closing on 9 October. The parcel sizes available have been detailed below. Specific details on closing times and dates for all parcels will be outlined on the Ruralco Water auction page.
Registrations to participate in this auction are expected to open later this week. Once open, this will be communicated via Customer Update (email and SMS).
As has been previously communicated, any water that remains unsold via this auction process will form part of Water Solutions' broader water sales throughout the season.
