Murray Irrigation is pleased to announce the appointment of Sam Tainsh to the company's recently formed Water Risk Committee, following a comprehensive recruitment process.
Mr Tainsh joins the committee as an independent expert, working alongside the company’s two independent directors, Robert Burbury and Trisha Gorman, and Murray Irrigation CEO, Ron McCalman.

Mr Tainsh brings to the role more than two decades of executive experience in the Australian grains and oilseeds sector, together with a deep understanding of commodity risk management and governance. Originally from the Murray Valley, he has significant familiarity with water policy and regulation.
A large portion of Mr Tainsh's career has been spent working at an executive level at GrainCorp, holding positions including Group GM of Trading, Group GM of GrainCorp Oils and as a Director on subsidiary and joint venture Boards. Since leaving GrainCorp, he has consulted widely to a number of agricultural and commodity businesses.
Mr Tainsh holds qualifications in Agricultural Economics and Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). His governance experience includes ASX-listed boards, subsidiary directorships and strategic consulting.
Murray Irrigation welcomes Mr Tainsh to the team. With his long family connection to the area, combined with his deep understanding of the region’s reliance on irrigation and corporate governance background, he is sure to bring valuable insight and oversight to Murray Irrigation's Water Solutions initiative.
