Operational Update

Murray Irrigation Season Outlook Briefings

Water trade and brokerage specialist, Marianne Graham, presenting at the Finley meeting.

Murray Irrigation hosted three Season Outlook Briefing sessions at Wakool, Deniliquin and Finley last week.

More than 80 participants turned out for these three meetings, with the feedback overwhelmingly positive.

Thank you to all our customers who attended.

We were lucky to have a strong line-up of speakers, including Marianne Graham, Eric Snodgrass, Shahadat Chowdhury, and Priyantha Jayakody, who all brought timely insights into water markets, weather forecasting, and allocation modelling.

The format was short and sharp, the venue relaxed, and the water sharing education was a real highlight.

We will be releasing more information from these sessions, including the presentations, shortly.

2025 Member Director Election update

A reminder to shareholders that voting for Murray Irrigation Limited's (Company) 2025 Member Director Election is now open, and will run until 9.00am Monday 29 September 2025.

The Company constitution requires the Member Director Election to be conducted using the optional preferential voting system. This means that shareholders have the choice to express a preference for onesome, or all of the candidates in a ballot (but need only vote for one candidate for a vote to be valid).

The diagram
(below) sets out an example for how shareholders in an optional preferential voting system may cast their votes (in this example there are only three candidates).

Shareholders who may not have internet access are more than welcome to drop-in to the Company’s Deniliquin or Finley office between 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, to cast their vote (please ensure you bring your voting details with you as the Company does not have access to your personal voting information).

We would like to advise that two technical errors were identified in the first few days of voting last week, which were swiftly rectified. All impacted customers and shareholders were notified via email from Vero Voting and SMS from the Company as soon as this was identified and the issue rectified.

Furthermore, the Company requested the independent election operator, Vero Voting, undertake a full audit to ensure that all eligible shareholders have been duly distributed their voting details. This audit has confirmed that all email and postal voting materials have been sent to shareholders. However, Vero Voting has also noted that:

  • Some shareholders may have their voting details in their spam or junk email folders;
  • Some shareholders have not provided email addresses to the Company and are therefore not able to be provided with voting information via email; and
  • All letters have been sent and may be in transit with Australia Post (to the extent not yet delivered).

Vero Voting has further confirmed that the integrity of the election process has been maintained in full and is progressing in an appropriate manner.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, the Company encourages shareholders to contact Vero Voting in the first instance, and the Company’s Customer Experience team in the second instance: 1300 138 265.

In line with best practice, Vero Voting will conduct an independent audit at the end of the election period.

For everything you need to know about the 2025 Member Director Election, including statements from the four candidates, our 'How to vote' guide, frequently asked questions and how the Company’s optional preferential voting system works, please visit our website (below).
