July Shareholder Meetings - final report

In July 2025 Murray Irrigation hosted Shareholder Meetings across the footprint. The aim of these meetings was to provide an update on key initiatives that came out of the September 2024 shareholder discussion groups, as well as inform shareholders of MIL’s strategic direction and provide an update on current strategic initiatives and performance.
 
Twelve face-to-face meetings and one online meeting were held across the footprint, with 155 shareholders attending. The 155 shareholders represented 31% of the 2024/2025 water usage. 
 
For those who were unable to attend, MIL have completed a report which shows the presentation that was given and the discussion around each of the topics presented.

Murray Irrigation is hosting a series of shareholder meetings during July 2025.


Last year, we invited shareholders to share their thoughts on how we can work together to reduce the impact of water buybacks on Murray Irrigation, customers, and the broader community. Based on this valuable feedback, we have progressed several key initiatives, including:


Water Solutions pilot. The purpose of Water Solutions is to retain productive water within the Murray Irrigation footprint by purchasing permanent water entitlements and selling temporary water allocations to customers within the footprint.

Feasibility study. The aim of this study is to find a pathway forward that will minimise the resultant harm of water buybacks on farmers and communities.


We encourage you to attend a meeting at a time and location that suits you to receive an update on the above initiatives and other strategic developments, as well as company performance for the 2024/25 financial year.


Each meeting will run for approximately two hours and will include a presentation, followed by time for questions and discussion.


In response to your feedback, this year’s meetings will be held in small group settings of up to 20 participants across the footprint.
