Milestone moment for Murray Irrigation

Yesterday, 3 March 2025, marked 30 years to the day that Murray Irrigation was privatised from a government-owned entity, signalling the birth of the company as we know it today.
Stay tuned for more details and reflections on this significant company milestone and historic moment in local irrigation history over the course of the year.
Board Strategy session
Murray Irrigation's Board participated in a two-day offsite strategy session last week.
It was a great to have everyone in the room contributing to the positive discussion centred around the future of Murray Irrigation.
We look forward to sharing further information on the outcomes of this planning session, together with details of last Thursday's Board Meeting shortly.
Staff in focus - Emily appointed to RGA Board

We're delighted to be turning the spotlight this week on Murray Irrigation staff member and local rice grower, Emily Small, who has been recently appointed to the Board of the Ricegrowers' Association of Australia.

Independent Member for Murray, Helen Dalton, is hosting an information session tomorrow (Wednesday 5 March) to discuss water buybacks and her 7 Point Plan to fix the Murray Darling Basin.

Irrigation suppliers and service webinar
One Basin CRC is hosting a webinar tomorrow (Wednesday 5 March) discussing issues associated with irrigation supply and servicing.
There will be an industry panel on hand to discuss industry topics, including:
- Training, attracting and retaining staff .
- What is needed to ensure consistent supply of irrigation parts and machinery.
- What is needed to further support on-farm adoption of water saving technologies.
This webinar commences at 12.00pm.
NSW Farmers Business Plan Ready Workshops
Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFC) is working with NSW Farmers and NSW Farm Business Resilience Program to deliver Business Plan Ready workshops across the region.
In these free workshops, producers will develop a farm business plan with guidance from their local RFC.
