Forward Allocation Product customer information sessions

Ruralco Water brokers Marianne Graham and Rebecca Williams are hosting three face-to-face education sessions for Murray Irrigation customers interested in participating in the Forward Allocation Product launched last week.

These sessions will take place at Wakool, Deniliquin and Finley, on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 February.

Marianne and Rebecca will step participants through the Ruralco Water Trading Platform, demonstrating to customers how they can bid on the forward allocation parcels independently. 

They will also provide some historical data on the forward market and the benefits of diversifying some buying intent.

The Forward Allocation Product is being offered exclusively to Murray Irrigation customers for a two-year period, for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 irrigation seasons.

Join Murray Irrigation's cotton farm tour

Following on from the successful launch of our Irrigation Innovation Farm Tour last year, Murray Irrigation is pleased to be hosting the next in this series, which has a focus on cotton.

 10.00am – 1.00pm

Location:
 'Sandford’s Farm', located approximately 20-minutes southeast of Deniliquin (specific location provided on registration).

Program: 
The program will focus on interactive discussions and a hands-on crop walk where attendees will hear from industry experts on topics including:


  • Transitioning into cotton production
  • Soil suitability
  • Feasibility of land conversion
  • Planning considerations, spray drift management, and
  • Available support for those considering the transition.


Transport:
 Attendees are welcome to travel in their own vehicles. Buses will be provided for those who wish to utilise them. Details on bus departure times and locations will be shared closer to the date.


Catering:
 Lunch will be provided – please provide any dietary requirement information in your RSVP.

Basin Plan Review info sessions - Register your interest 

The Murray-Darling Basin Authority is getting ready to start the public consultation phase of the 2026 Basin Plan Review. 

Once the consultation phase starts, Murray Irrigation is offering to host some preliminary information sessions for shareholders, where you can hear from the company’s Water Policy Coordinator, Linda Christesen. 

The purpose of these sessions will be to assist shareholders to understand the topics that will be covered, how they can participate in the Review process, and to understand what elements of the Review are likely to be of most interest to our footprint. 

Specific times and locations for these sessions will depend on when the Review officially commences, and the level of interest shown by shareholders to participate.

Community in Focus feature - RGA Landcare 

We're delighted to kick off our 2026 Community in Focus series with a fantastic yarn about RGA Landcare's 'Growing Together' project, which will see Berrigan's historic Tank Reserve undergo a stunning landscape transformation.
 
RGA Landcare is a recipient of Murray Irrigation's 2025/26 sponsorship program. 
 
This high impact initiative has community, conservation and wellbeing at its very core, with local school students and an army of volunteers set to roll up their sleeves later this year to plant 1,000 native trees to create an even more beautiful and diverse space for local recreation and relaxation.

Spray management workshops with Craig Day

Well-known spray expert Craig Day will be delivering best practice chemical spray and application management workshops in Deniliquin and Finley next week.

Deniliquin Golf Club | Tuesday 3 February | 8.45am - 3.00pm

Finley Football Club | Wednesday 4 February | 8.45am - 3.00pm


These workshops are designed to help farmers: 

  • Plan a spraying program
  • Recognise and avoid inversions
  • Match nozzles and pressures to label-required droplet sizes
  • Calibrate boom height and speed
  • Understand how to condition water
  • Document set-ups to meet regulated requirements.

There is no cost to attend. Catering is provided.

With the Kagome tomato harvest underway, the team is excited to bring Pick-A-Box to Deniliquin for another year of fresh tomatoes, good vibes and community spirit.

Join the Kagome crew for a fun morning where you can fill your own box with fresh, Aussie-grown tomatoes straight from the field — all for $10 a box.


When: This Saturday, 31 January
Time: 8:00 am – 11:00 am
Where: Doherty Farms, Parfreys Rd, Deniliquin

$10 cash per box – cash only

All proceeds from the event will be matched by Kagome and donated to Deniliquin Health Service.
