Winter Operations update
With draining for all of Murray Irrigation's 2026 Maintenance Areas now complete, our staff and contractors are set to scale up their Winter Works activity from this week.
Customers can check to see whether your outlet is in a 2026 Maintenance Area via the 'My Outlets' tab on your
Customer Portal.
There will be an increase in heavy machinery activity and vehicle movements as our crews and contracting teams undertake their work.
If you come across a Murray Irrigation work site, please make sure you:
- Slow down
- Keep a look out for traffic signage
- Adhere to changed road conditions
- Please remember that just because you don't see our work crews, doesn't mean they are not there.

Business News
Project Streamline update
As many of our customers may be aware, Murray Irrigation is undertaking a significant Information Communication Technology (ICT) Transformation project called Project Streamline.
The primary objective of Project Streamline is to modernise the company's technological infrastructure to ensure our systems are robust, scalable and capable of effectively responding to the evolving needs of the business and customers.
After more than 12 months of detailed scoping and design by the project team, this important company initiative will reach a key milestone in the coming months, with the first round of new systems due to be implemented early in the new financial year.
As the first stage of implementation will be primarily internal, customers will only experience some small changes to your daily interactions with Murray Irrigation. Further information on these changes will be shared with customers in the coming weeks.
Looking ahead, there will be some significant and exciting changes coming to the customer portal and water exchange (WEX) platform later this year. These changes are designed to increase functionality and usability, including streamlined water ordering, account management and water trading features to allow for efficient and simplified online self-service.
As part of the transition to the new customer portal and WEX, customers will soon begin receiving prompts to check and update your information within the current portal to ensure a smooth and seamless transition when the time comes.
Keep an eye out in the coming months for further information on these changes, including details where you can access training and support prior to the changes being implemented.
For any questions relating to Project Streamline, please contact Customer Experience on 1300 138 265 or email

Murray Irrigation flood protection works program
Murray Irrigation is embarking on a two-year flood protection works program during this year's Winter Works.
The Company is investing more than $5 million into this major initiative, which will target six sites between Wakool and Moulamein.
The work will mitigate potential risks arising from impending changes to the NSW Floodplain Management Plans and is being undertaken in response to findings from Murray Irrigation's
2022 Flood Review, which the Company conducted following unprecedented rainfalls which flooded the river systems and inundated the footprint during October and November 2022.
