Murray Irrigation appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Murray Irrigation today announced Phil Endley as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, filling the vacancy left by Michael Renehan on 30 June 2019.

Phil Snowden, Chairman Murray Irrigation said that Mr Endley’s wealth of experience in water industries across Australia, Europe, South America and Asia will set the company in good stead as it continues to deliver for shareholders.

“We’ve achieved a great deal over the past five years, modernising our infrastructure and delivering real, tangible benefits to our shareholders and regional communities.

“Under Mr Endley’s tenure, we’ll build on this by continuing to work with governments, members of parliament and other relevant parties to shape policy outcomes that aim to secure a more reliable water supply.

“This is especially important to farmers in the southern Murray region with the potential of another low allocation season” Mr Snowden said.

Mr Endley says that he’s looking forward to hitting the ground running after an extensive background in the industry.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Murray Irrigation and using my knowledge and expertise to lead the business using international best-practice standards to effect real outcomes for local people.

‘My recent five-year appointment as Managing Director with Lower Murray Water, based in Mildura has developed my knowledge and understanding of the issues facing irrigators along the southern Murray Darling Basin” he said.

“I look forward to getting out into the region and meeting with shareholders to understand their concerns and take on board constructive solutions that will support our farmers, our regional economies, our communities and the environment,” Mr Endley concluded.

Mr Endley will commence work on Monday, 5 August 2019.
