Winter Operations - we need your help

Our aim is to establish the key transition dates for Winter Operations in consultation with you, so your irrigation plans can be realised, and our drainage for the maintenance program can be carried out in the most optimal way.


Customers are requested to place orders by Friday 21 April for any irrigation intentions in late April, May or June.


The evidence of this demand will assist us in finalising our guaranteed delivery dates to fit with your irrigation plans.


Winter Operations aims to maximise your access to water ordering while balancing the delivery of the winter maintenance program on time and on budget.


Winter Operations has four phases with timing dependent on seasonal variances. Typical timeframes are shown below:


1. Transition in – mid April to mid May

Orders require 4-day notification.  Deliveries guaranteed.


2. Winter operations – from mid May 

All Operational Areas have access to non-guaranteed deliveries. In maintenance areas, until they are drained, and in non- maintenance areas, dependant on available supply.


3. Transition out – mid July to mid August

Dependent on successful completion of winter maintenance work with access to non-guaranteed deliveries staggered across the system by Operational Area. 


4. Regular Operation – from mid August

Mode of Operation announced. Deliveries guaranteed. 


Other works during Winter


Throughout the period of winter operations urgent repairs will also need to be undertaken in areas not closed for maintenance.


The
In-Season Works process will be followed, with customers notified about two weeks before to coordinate the work. 


What are guaranteed delivery dates?


When we guarantee water delivery, you get the order within that timeframe, according to the Distribution Rules.


Non-guaranteed water delivery is opportunistic and subject to the available water within your channel section. 


Am I in a maintenance area?


You can check your Operational Area and if your outlet is in a 2023 maintenance area via the 'My Outlets' tab on your Customer Portal.

Service Centres closed morning 13 April


Our Deniliquin and Finley Customer Service Centres will be closed on Thursday 13 April from 8.30 - 11.30am to enable staff training.


All services through the Customer Portal will be available as normal. If your matter is urgent, please leave a message or email.
