Operational Update - 2 May 2025

2025 Winter Operations - Guaranteed dates

This second Operational Update on Winter Operations provides the Guaranteed Dates as outlined in the Season Operating Plan.

Current order data, along with the dry weather, indicates high demand for water deliveries in maintenance areas. As a result, water availability will be very limited after the guaranteed dates.

Place your Orders

Customers are requested to tell us their intentions by placing orders in advance by Wednesday 7 May  for water delivery in May or June.

NOTE - If you place orders early, they can be cancelled, and you can still place orders after 7 May.

This information will help us understand where delivery demand is located in May and June so we can drain efficiently and fit with your irrigation plans as best as possible.

Order notice period

The current notice period for water orders is up to one day. During the transition to winter operations, a four-day notice period for orders may be required.

We will send you an SMS to let you know if there is any change to your outlet as per our normal practice.

Guaranteed water delivery dates for 2025 Maintenance Areas:

After the guaranteed delivery dates maintenance areas will be drained in accordance with the principles in the Season Operating Plan

Once draining is complete, customers will not have access to water, including stock and domestic, over the winter period.

Guaranteed dates for 2025 Non-Maintenance Areas:

After the guaranteed delivery dates, access to water, including stock and domestic water, is subject to the available water in your channel section.

You may see water levels drop as we begin to drain or prepare to harvest water ahead of offtake closures.

You can view the maintenance area for your  outlets via the “My Outlets” tab on your Customer Portal.

Key points to note:

·        You can continue to order water during winter in non-maintenance areas, although delivery is not guaranteed.

·        If you place orders after the guaranteed date, the water ordering system will offer a 4-day notice period for all new orders.

·        The Mulwala Canal will be drained again this year for critical inspections of key regulators to follow up on last year’s urgent repairs.

·        Post the guaranteed dates, all orders will be reviewed each afternoon and customers will be advised if, and when delivery is available.

Please see our Transition to Winter Operations update sent on 16 April 2025 for more information on:

·        Stock & Domestic water delivery,

·        Other works during winter.
