Deakin University education and information sharing tour

5 June 2023

Murray Irrigation hosted representatives from Deakin University, Centre for Regional and Rural Futures (CeRRF) and the NSW Government, Department of Planning and Environment, Biodiversity and Conservation Division, on a regional education and information sharing tour last week.

As part of the itinerary, the participants visited Murray Irrigation's Mascotte Escape to learn how we are working with the Department of Planning and Environment to deliver environmental water into the Jimaringle and Cockran creeks using our irrigation infrastructure.

The site visit promoted valuable discussion about our environmental watering initiative, Murray Reconnected Floodplains, and the potential of this project to further support the environment.

Murray Irrigation is working with local communities, landholders, First Nations, universities, as well as State and Federal government agencies, on a number of collaborative initiatives that are aimed at delivering positive outcomes for not only the environment, but for the broader community as

a whole.
