Murray Irrigation is pleased to have awarded funding to five worthy local projects for 2023.

Learn to Swim 2023

Murray Irrigation is delighted to offer Learn to Swim funding to schools and swimming clubs across our area of operation again in 2023/24. 

Our annual Sponsorship Program aims to support healthy, viable and vibrant communities by providing sponsorship to activities which promote and embed safety and wellbeing within our regional communities. 

As part of this program, we support accredited learn to swim activities for schools and swimming clubs in our area of operation. Living in a region where rivers, dams and irrigation channels are part of our environment, water safety is a necessary skill for our children and young people.

Sponsorship of $10 per child can be provided for accredited Learn to Swim programs (not including stroke development).

To be eligible for funding, schools and swim clubs should complete and return the below application form providing: 

• Proposed date/s of the program and the number of days over which it will be run;
• The names and qualifications of those who will run the program (e.g. Royal Lifesaving, Austswim etc.);
• The objectives of the program; and
• Whether you agree to work with us to help promote Learn to Swim and water safety, your school or club and our sponsorship program in the media. This would include parent permission and photo release forms where participants are identifiable. Note: this is not compulsory

Sponsorship payment is based on participant attendance records, which are required on completion of your program, or by 31 March 2024. 

Please note: to be eligible for funding, programs must be conducted and completed in the current financial year (i.e., from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024).
