About Murray Irrigation

We are Australia’s largest private environmental and irrigation water delivery company.

On 3 March 1995, the NSW Government privatised the irrigation system in the NSW Murray Valley and Murray Irrigation Limited was born. We are an unlisted, public company. Our irrigators are also our shareholders. 


We are licensed to operate by the NSW Government, with general security entitlements to the NSW Murray Regulated River resource.

Safety is our number one priority. The entire Murray Irrigation is committed to the safety, health and wellbeing of all staff, contractors, landholders and the general public to ensure we remove exposure to safety risks.

An annual training plan for the business ensures our employees are safe, knowledgeable and compliant for all higher risk activities at all times. Safety leadership development is a goal we are also working towards to compliment our system and build a strong leadership culture.

While we continue to develop and embed a strong safety culture in all of our activities, we are also concentrating on building our safety leadership capacity to more effectively influence and motivate others to adopt health and safety as an important work goal.
