Five Nominations for Murray Irrigation Board

Murray Irrigation has received five nominations for three Shareholder Director positions on the company’s Board.

Phil Snowden, Murray Irrigation Board Chairman said that shareholder voting will open on Tuesday, 1 October 2019.

“We have engaged the Australian Election Company, an independent voting and electoral service provider, to conduct the election via postal ballot,” Phil said.

The nominees are:

·         Jonathon Gatacre

·         Louis Kelly

·         Steven Fawns – existing Board member

·         Noel Baxter – existing Board member

·         Ryan Gleeson – existing Board member

The successful candidates will join the Board’s three existing Independent Directors and two existing Shareholder Directors to oversee the strategic direction of the company.

“The Board recently completed the company’s 2025 Strategic Plan and it will be the responsibility of the elected members to oversee the delivery of this.

“Importantly, incoming Directors must be prepared to place the company’s interests above their own and make decisions that support the sustainability of the company and the overarching needs of its shareholders.

“Newly elected Directors will be fully briefed on their responsibilities, will be required to sign the Director’s Code of Conduct and complete Company Director training if they haven’t already,” Phil said.

“The postal ballot will close at 5pm, Friday 29 October 2019 and it’s important that all votes and proxy votes are received by then,” Phil said.

Murray Irrigation has conducted standard ASIC checks and routine due diligence on each candidate to ensure they are eligible for nomination. Candidates can withdraw their nomination at any time.
