Murray Irrigation Limited Land, Life and Water
Photographic Competition

The winning photograph in the Open Section of the 2008 Murray Irrigation Limited Land, Life and Water Photographic Competition taken by Glencie Healey, of Finley: Local dairyfarmer Ruth Kydd, of Myrtle Park, feeding 390 calves.
For some years Murray Irrigation Limited sponsored the Land, Life and Water Photographic Competition.
Unfortunately, the competition is no longer being held.
The competition created a regional collection of positive images of regional life in irrigation communities, helped to raise the profile of irrigated agriculture in the community, and provided an opportunity for photographers to showcase their skills.
Entries were submitted through the Jerilderie Summer Fair, Deniliquin Show, Wakool Show, Finley Show, Pretty Pine Father's Day Fair and the Barham Show, or directly to Murray Irrigation.
Images in the competition were of irrigation, waterways, wildlife and vegetation and other aspects of farming in the region in two sections:
-
Student: Entrant must have been attending a primary or secondary school at the time the photograph was taken or the digital artwork was created.
-
Open: Open to all photographers including amateur, semi-professional and professional. |
