Murray Irrigation provides annual sponsorship of primary school and community swimming programs as part of a proactive approach to safety. Given the many man made and natural water hazards in the region it is vital all children have an opportunity to learn to swim. During the 2005/06 year the company sponsored more than 1,700 places in water safety and learn to swim programs. 

The company provides $10 per primary school aged child participating in a water safety, learn to swim or stroke development program of more than five hours duration during the year. The programs must operate within the company's area of operations.
