Murray Irrigation's Business Development Unit (BDU) was established in 2003 to facilitate investment by new and existing customers.

The BDU assists potential and existing farmers and investors to analyse the water requirements and viability of new ventures and then works with Murray Irrigation to overcome any irrigation limitations that may prevent a development from proceeding.

The BDU's key objectives are to:

• Market the region
• Increase shareholder wealth
• Source established markets and supply chain alliances
• Design a regional investment strategy and portfolio farming framework for the company
• Promote continuous improvement
